January 15, 2020 Visa requirements to enter Brazil for U.S., Canadian and Australian nationals

Due to a new regulation stipulated by the Brazilian Government in Decree 11.515 of May 2, 2023, as of april 10, 2024, the requirement of visas for citizens born in the United States, Canada and Australia who wish to enter and stay in the Brazilian territory will be resumed.

Visas are for foreigners who wish to enter Brazil for a specific purpose, such as tourism, business, study, work, among others. The Migration Law establishes the following types of visas:

  1. Visiting
  2. Temporary
  3. Diplomat
  4. Official
  5. Courtesy

Each type of visa has specific requirements that must be fulfilled by the applicant and can be processed at the website of the Brazilian Government.

Please note:

No waivers for changes or refunds will be applied to customers who are not boarded because they do not meet the travel requirements of the new visa, information that was published as of May 2023.
